i c.am's style I have experience working in mental health care for a variety of patients across the spectrum of physical and mental illnesses, including psychosomatic disorders, complex PTSD, depression and cancer. More than the illness, I am committed to “seeing / viewing the individual in front of me”, and “valuing their autonomy / independence”. While focusing on the concepts of counselling and mindfulness through active listening, I teach mindfulness meditation, implement and suggest touch-based mindfulness and act as a guide and listener during focusing. I keep medications to a minimum and always try to reduce their amount. I also respect the wishes and pace of each individual and hope to help them lead a more balanced and fulfilling life. I also make referrals and suggestions to specialists when necessary. Counselling Although there are many different types of counseling around the world, my style of counseling is the person-centred therapy found by the psychologist Carl Ransom Rogers. During the session, I try to understand the client’s story through active listening and in most cases, I will include my experience, advice and suggestions. However, if the client in quetions prefers ’just active listening’, that is also possible. Mindfulness Meditation Mindfulness meditation is the foundation of what I offer and is the most important element in the programme. It can be used as a form of therapy for illness, but it can also be of great benefit to people with unwellness and worries. It is more of a technique or skill, than a therapy. Mindfulness meditation can be practised by anyone, so can be practised in combination with counselling, depending on the symptoms and condition in question. The aim is to help individuals to become more mindful of thier minds and bodies. By truly becoming present in the ‘here and now’, I will help you to have an unshakable sense of reassurance and hope within yourself. Online Group Mindfulness Meditation It is often difficult to develop and stick to habits. By participating in a regular online group, we aim to make mindfulness meditation a daily habit. Participants who participate for a period of time may find that they experience individual and group meditation differently. Weekdays: Mon-Wed-Fri 5:55am - 6:30am. * No practice day in August 2024: 12th (Mon) Sat/Sun: August 2024 3rd Aug (Sat) 08:55am - 10:00am 17th Aug (Sat) 11:55am - 1:00pm 25th Aug (Sun) 0:55pm -2:00pm 31st Aug (Sat) 09:55am - 11:00am Focusing Focusing is a psychotherapy discovered in the 1960s by an American philosopher and psychologist, Eugene Tovio Gendlin, and, like mindfulness, it is universally accepted and is a type of technique or skill. Please see below for the differences between the two therapies. Focusing is also recommended for people who want to develop self-compassion (and/or self-confidence). Touch-Based Mindfulness Touch-based mindfulness is a method developed in my practice of Tactile Care ®︎ with patients. Tactile Care ®︎ is simply an ‘attentive touch’ (massage). It is now practised mainly on dementia and cancer patients, but it was originally a therapy for premature babies. Mindfulness can be understood intellectually, but it can still be difficult to understand experientially. I use touch-based mindfulness as an aid to facilitate correct understanding of mindfulness and mindfulness meditation. Strength Coaching It is provided using Gallup's CliftonStrengths®︎. See below for the difference between counselling and coaching. Strengths Coaching believes that a person's personality is made up of a sequence of 34 qualities. By answering the CliftonStrengths®︎ questions, you can find out your own ranking of the 34 qualities, and the top 10 qualities are considered as your talents. We help you to become more aware of your talents by listening to yourself. We also coach you so that you can use your talents to achieve the goals you have set for yourself. Group Courses I offer courses that enable participants to discuss and think about health and well-being, while sharing my own ideas, which I have come up with after working with a variety of patients. I believe that through the course, everyone will understand how different each person's coping (conscious dealing with stress) and mindful experience can be. We hope that this understanding will help you to feel and value yourself and those around and close to you more than you did before taking the course. At the end of the course, I would like to offer the time to practise mindful breathing together. Hours and fees Session fee - Please check the document "Description on fees" below. Session start time - Please check the documents of consent forms below. *Answers to the CliftonStrengths®︎ questions will be charged separately. Mindfulness and mindfulness meditation are currently seeing a surge in popularity. How is your programme different from other forms of mindfulness meditation? A1. The term mindfulness was coined in the USA in the 1970s. Since then, I feel that it has become a concept that is complex and difficult to understand. In my own way, I have re-defined the word in a simplified way, and I am now trying to convey it to you. If, based on my knowledge and experience as a doctor, I decide that mindfulness meditation is not appropriate to your current context or situation, I will make other suggestions that you can follow.

What is Mindfulness and Why is Mindfulness Important? ✔︎ People who want to reduce stress and become healthier ✔︎ People who want to reduce the amount of medications they are taking ✔︎ People who want to connect with their essence and make the most of it ✔︎ People who want to lead a more fulfilling life ✔︎ People who want to prepare to accept old age and death naturally and peacefully, etc. Are you feeling stressed and anxious / not feeling well / tired / unable to sleep, or do you want to relieve such symptoms without going to a psychiatric clinic / taking medications? If you identify with any of the above, mindfulness and mindfulness meditation may help with these symptoms and problems. It has long been said that illness starts in the mind, and in fact, stress and anxiety are often the cause of illness. As a medical practitioner specialised in psychosomatic medicine, I understand the benefits of mindfulness in my daily work with patients and in my own practice of it, and I truly want more people to experience these benefits. Mindfulness is about facing your mind and body and becoming aware of your ‘individuality’. If you act according to your ‘individuality’, I believe that stress and anxiety will be reduced, illness will decrease, and the world will surely be a better place. If you learn mindfulness before you become ill, you will reduce your future risk of illness. If you suffer from a serious illness, you will be able to tackle it with a strong mindset, thanks to this practice. Through mindfulness and mindfulness meditation, we can support you in living a balanced and healthy life both physically and mentally. A warm remark As a doctor, I have become deeply aware of the fact that patients’ inner worlds present similarities but are also unique. I always strive to understand my patients in depth regardless of their diagnoses. Supporting patients in learning mindfulness meditation and being with them through the "focusing" method, I am convinced that these two skills can be very effective in the treatment and/or prevention of illnesses of individuals. I see mindfulness meditation and "focusing" as two sides of the same coin. If you can experience both sides of the coin, your life will be richer and healthier and I sincerely hope to support you in learning these methods. Through your own reasons and motivations, we hope that you will be interested in our programme. Director of icam co. ltd. MD. Counsellor. Gallup certified Strength Coach.
